BTS won the Special International Music Award at the 62nd Japan Record Awards and performed “Life Goes On” BTS stated that “BE” “imparts a message of healing to the world by declaring, ‘Even in the face of this new normality, our life goes on'”. “Life Goes On” was announced as the album’s lead single on October 30 and was officially released on 20th November 2020. “Life Goes On” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the band’s third number-one single in the United States. It is also the first song to debut atop the Hot 100 to be sung predominantly in a non-English language, as it is mostly in Korean.
