BTS’ “Dynamite” Beats “Gangnam Style’s” 8 Year Record On The Billboard Hot 100 Chart History

BTS’ “Dynamite” spends a record-breaking 32 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Psy’s “Gangnam Style” released in 2012 to officially become the longest charting song by a Korean act in history!

“Dynamite” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 having sold 300,000 units in its first week, including download, vinyl and cassette physical versions. It become BTS’ first number-one single in the US and their fourth top-10 entry.  “Dynamite” sold a 182,000 units in its second week, remaining atop the Hot 100 for a second week, “Dynamite” returned to the top spot on the Hot 100 Chart for a third non consecutive week at number-one.

BTS’ “Dynamite” Breaks “Despacito’s” All-time Record on This Week’s Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart

BTS’ “Dynamite” maintains its No. 1 position on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart for an 18th week with 37,600 copies sold . As a result the song breaks the all-time record for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the chart which was previously held by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber.

“Dynamite” was the best-performing song of September and October 2020 in South Korea, based on digital sales, streaming, and background music (instrumental track) downloads. The song exceeded 250,000 downloads in 2021 and was awarded platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) that February.

BTS’ “BE” Album Remains at #1 On Billboard World Albums Chart for its 18th Week

BTS’ “BE” Album Retained its position at #1 On Billboard World Albums Chart having spent 18 Weeks on the chart.

BTS’ “BE” was BTS’ fifth album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, making BTS the fastest group to earn five chart-topping albums in the United States since the Beatles. BTS also became the only act besides Taylor Swift to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 charts simultaneously.
