“The American Music Awards (AMAs) are in just a few hours and BTS will be making history again. The members Jin, SUGA, RM, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will be performing at the event after four years. They were the first ever Korean artist to perform at the awards and they debuted their song “DNA” during the event. Fast foward to 2021 and they will be performing not one but two songs “My Universe” with Coldplay and “Butter” remix which they were to perform with Megan Thee Stallion who unfortunately will not make it.
They also have another history making moment where they are the first Asian act to be nominated in the highly competitive “Artist of the Year” category. BTS have come along way to becoming the biggest band in the world and ARMY is proud of them.
How media reported BTS’s moments at the 2017 AMAs
“The boys of BTS made history tonight as the first Korean boy band to perform at American Music Awards. The seven-member boy band, who are international superstars, hit the stage and brought down the house at the 2017 American Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night” E online, 2017
“BTS‘ history-making performance of “DNA” at the 2017 American Music Awards dazzled everyone from Jared Leto and The Chainsmokers to the millions of viewers at home, but this important mainstream-music moment also stood out for what happened in the audience — specifically, with their loudest fans” Billboard, 2017
“BTS Just Shut Down the 2017 AMAs With Their Mindblowing Performance. Tonight’s AMAs ceremony was the first time the group — compromised of members, Jin, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — performed their first televised US performance. The band performed their hit single “DNA” in a front of a color-changing backdrop, donning colorful jackets while performing a series of fun and intricate dance moves” teenVOGUE
