BTS “Butter” is #1 on US Billboard Hot 100 Chart for 4 weeks in a row!
BTS have stamped the authority that they are the only ones who can break their own records. Butter” is the first #1 debut by a group to remain at #1 on the Hot 100 in its first four weeks this century. “Butter” (4 weeks) is now BTS longest running #1 hit on the Hot 100, surpassing “Dynamite” (3 weeks).
This is the first time an Asian artist has achieved this in Billboard’s 62-yr history. The last time an Asian artist was #1 was in 1963 for 3 wks. Only 54 songs have ever debuted #1 on the Hot 100 Chart and only 13 of them kept that spot for 4 weeks, which now includes “Butter”. The other artists who achieved this are all English or American. “Butter” is The 1st Asian act & 1st song by a group to spend its first 4 weeks at #1 since Aerosmith in 1998
Billboard reported that “Butter” drew 12.5 million U.S. streams and sold 111,400 downloads in the week ending June 17. It also attracted 25.8 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 6%) in the week ending June 20,”

“Butter,” released on May 21 topped iTunes top songs charts in more than 100 regions, the song broke 5 Guinness World Records for Most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube, Most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube, Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group, and Most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours.
With “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On” and “Film Out” BTS became the first artist to chart songs in the major Billboard Charts in 3 languages English, Korean and Japanese respectively. “Butter” is BTS’ 4th #1 hit on Billboard Hot 100 following “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” and “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” remix by Jawsh 687 and Jason Derulo.
