TIME Magazine announced this Year’s 100 Most Influential Companies. The list revealed on 27th April is divided into five categories, Pioneers, Leaders, Innovators, Titans and Disruptors. Among giant names like Twitter, NBA, NIKE, Samsung, Disney, Netflix, Spotify, Tesla inc., Mastercard and many more. Entertainment agency HYBE made the list under “PIONEERS” listed together with other companies like, Roblox, Red Power Bikes, Flutterwave, Bumble, Draktrace, Tilray, TerraCycle, Oatly, Strava, Beyond Meat, Klutch Sports Group, Headspace, Rothy’s, Savage X Fenty and Hello Sunshine
“At the end of January, HYBE and its subsidiary invested over $60 million in its former rival, K-pop entertainment company YG. And in April, HYBE purchased U.S.-based media group Ithaca Holdings in a $1 billion deal, adding pop stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande to its roster.” TIME
Big Hit Music formerly Big Hit Entertainment) is a South Korean entertainment company established in 2005 by Bang Si-hyuk. It was rebranded as Big Hit Music by its parent company Hybe Corporation, formerly Big Hit Entertainment Co. Ltd., in March 2021. As of that date, the company manages soloist Lee Hyun, and boy groups BTS and TXT—it is formerly home to soloist Lim Jeong-hee, and groups 8Eight, 2AM, and Glam.
During the rebranding presentation, it was announced that the identity Big Hit would not be lost and a new sub-label would be created. In the same event, they announced Big Hit Music as the official name of this new label making it part of HYBE Corporation and HYBE Labels. This new label is set to work independently from HYBE Corporation in the areas of music production, artist management and fan communication
BTS is the biggest group to come out of HYBE Labels and they have appeared on TIME magazine several times. BTS have been named “Entertainer of the Year” in 2020, “The K-POP Band that conquered the World” for a collectors edition, “Next Generation Leaders” in 2018 and “THE BTS EFFECT” for TIME for KIDS
