BTS Receive Their First Ever BRIT Awards Nomination In The 2021 “International Group” Category

BTS have been nominated for “International Group” category at the 2021 BRIT Awards. They become the FIRST Korean act in history to get a BRIT Awards nomination! BTS’ success has been a formidable force that literally helped save the music industry in 2020.

BTS are the first Korean group to receive certifications in the United Kingdom, with two Silver single certifications for “Boy With Luv” and “Mic Drop”,one Gold single certification for “Dynamite”, five Silver album certifications for “Love Yourself: Tear,” “Love Yourself: Her,” “Face Yourself,” “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever” and “You Never Walk Alone,” three Gold album certifications for “Love Yourself: Answer,” “Map of the Soul: Persona” and “Map of the Soul: 7”

Having sold over 20.3 million albums on the Gaon Music Chart, BTS are the best-selling artist in South Korean history, surpassing Shin Seung-hun’s record of 17 million albums.

In South Korea, BTS hold five Multi-Million albums and four Platinum streaming singles.As the first Korean group to receive an RIAA certification, BTS has one Double Platinum single, two Platinum albums, three Platinum singles, two Gold singles, and one Gold album in the United States.

In Japan, BTS is the first male foreign act to receive a Million certification for a single; they also have two Multi-Platinum singles, two Multi-Platinum albums, two Platinum albums and four Gold albums.

The BRIT Awards (often simply called The BRITs) are the British Phonographic Industry’s annual popular music awards. The BRIT Award statuette given to the winners features Britannia, the female personification of Britain. Since 2011, the statuette has been regularly redesigned by some of the best known British designers, stylists and artists, including Vivienne Westwood, Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Peter Blake, Zaha Hadid, Anish Kapoor and David Adjaye
