BIGHIT Music formerly BigHit Entertainment which is BTS’ music label has issued an update notice on legal proceedings against violation of their artists rights. BTS have been on the receiving end of a lot of malicious attacks from both individuals and/ or companies or corporations. As a result their label has had to issue a statement regarding legal proceedings against such attack on BTS and all their artists.
BTS’ label is always seeking ways to sort out the issues by turning to the legal system. It is disheartening that there are individuals or companies that exist for the sole reason of hurting others without thinking of the consequences. BTS recently shared their support for the #StopAsianHate stand, that has been as a result of too many Asian communities being targeted for hate crime and xenophobia.
In the statement they have admitted that some of those attacks have led to feelings of low self-esteem and they can only imagine how the victims of such attacks must feel. There is only so much you can take until it becomes too much for your mental and physiological health and if peaceable means fail, the only solution is to seek legal means that will be thorough and act based on facts and not emotions.
It is the responsibility of every artist’ management to take care of their artists and BIGHIT has always stood by their artists and fought for their rights, at the end of the day we are all human and idols have hearts that hurt like the rest of us.
BIGHIT’s statement reads,
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.
Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including ill-intentioned criticism, the spread of groundless information, sexual harassment, personal attacks and defamation. We would like to provide an update on these activities.
We have recently filed additional criminal complaints using new information provided by fans as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives.
This latest group of perpetrators include certain non-member users of the internet community DC Inside. For an extended period of time we have been collecting evidence of repeated malicious postings being created in certain DC Inside “galleries” (message boards) by non-member accounts; we have provided law enforcement officials with the login information associated with these postings.
We have confirmed that even if posting histories are erased or accounts deleted after making malicious postings, sufficient network information remains to enable criminal investigations to proceed; such actions therefore may be subject to criminal proceedings.
Our continued legal responses have resulted in fines levied against perpetrators found guilty, and we are continuing to bring civil suits against these perpetrators. We will continue to initiate strict measures to ensure that perpetrators who engage in these malicious acts are prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and our policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.
BIGHIT regularly collects information on malicious postings regarding BTS, reports them to the authorities and files criminal complaints. We ask that you make continued use of our hotline (email@example.com) to report any cases of abuse.
We are always grateful for the affection and dedication shown by our fans of BTS.
We will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected.
