BTS’ “Dynamite” Breaks Record on Billboard Global 200 Singles Chart History

To say that BTS’ “Dynamite” is the song of the year is an understatement, because “Dynamite” is song of the century. Only 7 months old and the song has been destroying charts, making headlines and creating new records, at only 7 months! The journey of “Dynamite” began with new records set, old ones broken, longest held records crushed. Debuting at #1 On Billboard Hot 100 was just the beginning, second week at #1 was the continuation of how big “Dynamite” is and continues to be.

After spending half a year on the chart, “Dynamite” becomes the longest running Top 10 hit in Billboard Global 200 singles chart history (28 weeks). The song jumped from #12 the previous week to #6 this week on the charts.

“Dynamite” peaked at number one on both the Billboard Global 200  and Billboard Global Excl. U.S charts, topping the latter for three consecutive weeks.

“Dynamite” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 becoming the group’s first number-one single in the US and their fourth top-10 entry.

BTS became the first all-South Korean act in Hot 100 history to debut at number one. They also became the first Asian act to chart a number one song in the country since 1963.

“Dynamite” sold 300,000 units in its first week, including download, vinyl and cassette physical versions. It earned 33.9 million total US on-demand streams and 11.6 million radio impressions. “Dynamite” also debuted atop the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart, selling 265,000 downloads, the biggest pure sales week.
