BTS Win 8 Awards At The 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards

The Recording Industry Association of Japan has announced the winners for the 2021 edition of “The Japan Gold Disc Awards“. BTS won 8 awards at the ‘Japan Gold Disc Awards’ setting a new record for the most awards won and have also set a new record for winning the most crowns of foreign artists in the history of the awards ceremony. The Japan Gold Disc Award for music in the Recording Industry Association of Japan, is a major music award held annually in Japan awarding singers and works that have contributed to the development of the music industry during the year. The winners of each category are determined according to the sales performance of the albums and videos released in the previous year.

On March 15th the Japan Records Association released the list of winners of the ’35th Japan Gold Disc Awards’. BTS will be awarded in the “Best Artist” Asian category, “Album of the Year” and “Best 3 Album” (2 pieces). Album simultaneously), “Song of the Year” by Download, “Song of the Year by Streaming”, “Music Video of the Year”, and “Best 5 Song” by Streaming.

BTS was selected as the “Best Artist” in the Asian category for three consecutive years, and in the “Best 3 Album” category, BTS’s 4th regular album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” released in February last year. Japan’s 4th regular album“MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~”, released in January, was awarded at the same time. “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~” was also awarded in the “Album of the Year” category.

The digital single “Dynamite”, which was released in August last year, won three awards, namely, “Song of the Year by Download”, “Song of the Year by Streaming” and “Best 5 Song by Streaming” in the Asian category. In the “Music Video of the Year” category, the “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF” contains the live performances at the Japanese stadium of the world tour in 2019. “YOURSELF’-JAPAN EDITION)” was awarded.
