BTS Jungkook’s First & Only K-pop Idol To Have 2 Solo Songs Spend Full Year on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart

BTS’ Jungkook is no stranger to record breaking achievements both musically in his career and personally. The Grammy Nominated BTS member and vocalist has been achieving great results with every project he undertakes and his songs have had great impact both locally and internationally. His song “Your Eyes Tell‘ that was used as an OST in a Japanese Movie was written, composed and produced by him, recently he co-produced another OST “Film Out” that will be used in an upcoming Japanese Film. Musically his songs “My Time” and “Euphoria” have been some of his greatest achievements so far, at only 23 years old.

Jungkook writes his emotions in his music and he said regarding his song “My Time” that it is about his feelings and emotions, chronologically from his time as a trainee into adulthood. How he feels he grew up fast and doesn’t have the time to enjoy things that most people would at his age.

BTS Jungkook’s solo songs “Euphoria” and “My Time” are smash hits which continue to make headlines for milestones achieved on both international and Korean charts. Both songs continuously set new records showing massive popularity and proving Jungkook’s credibility as a world class singer, song writer, composer and producer.

Jungkook’s Euphoria 55 weeks on chart

Jungkook had earlier mentioned that he made “Euphoria” specially for ARMY as a source of comfort during difficult times.  “Euphoria” also set a new record as it has surpassed 180 million streams on Spotify, becoming the first K-pop male idol solo song to achieve this feat. It is the most streamed BTS solo song and the third most streamed K-pop solo song on the platform after PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’

Extraordinary achievements of ‘Euphoria’ include best-selling B-side in K-pop with over 4 million copies sold worldwide, highest Unique Listeners for a BTS solo song on MelOn (largest music subscription service in South Korea) and charted at #5 on Billboard bubbling under Hot100.

In 2020 “My Time” became the first Korean B-side and BTS solo song to chart for 100 days on Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, thus making it the longest-charting Korean B-side and BTS solo song on the chart.

Distinguished achievements of “My Time” include highest entry for a BTS solo song on Billboard Hot 100, fastest BTS solo song to sell 100,000 units in the US and the first one to chart at #1 on Billboard World Digital Song Sales.

This week, both “Euphoria” and “My Time” entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart at #2 and #1 respectively. “Euphoria” has now spent a total of 55 weeks on the chart, extending its record as the longest charting K-pop solo song while “My Time”, which spent 52 weeks is the second longest charting K-pop solo song on Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

BTS’ Jungkook becomes the first and only K-pop Idol to have 2 solo songs spending a full year on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart with “Euphoria” and “My Time”.
