BTS Jimin and V Awarded ‘President’s Award’ During the Global Cyber University’s Graduation Ceremony

Jimin and V’s story is one of those that seem to be from a fairy tale book. The two vocalists in one of the world’s greatest band have a story with the words ‘destiny’ and ’fate’ written all over it, their song “Friends” speaks of their destined friendship. Even though they came from two different places, Daegu (V) and Busan (Jimin), they studied and graduated from the same high school (Korean Arts High School), they left home for Seoul and auditioned in the same company, Big Hit Entertainment, at different times yet they joined the same group (BTS), trained together and went through their trainee years together and debuted together becoming an integral part of the most successful boy group in the world.

Jimin and V went to the same college, Global Cyber University, and graduated together back in August 2020. Their paths have literally led them in the same journey that they have been privileged to enjoy together. They have shared their best and worst moments, seen each other’s good and bad sides, been each other’s comfort and disciplinarian, been each other’s critique and biggest cheer leader.

On March 1st 2021, The Global Cyber University held their graduation ceremony at IIji Art Hall for those who graduated in August 2020 and this year in February 2021. The graduation ceremony was held virtually due to the pandemic and in line with government guidelines.

BTS V (Kim Tae-hyung) and Jimin (Park Ji-min) graduated last year August 2020 where they had been pursuing degrees in Entertainment & Media.

The two BTS vocalists were awarded the university’s President’s Award at the recent ceremony that was held virtually. Their adviser Professor Cheon Beom Joo accepted the award on their behalf since Jimin and V were not able to attend the ceremony.

The President’s Award was presented with the text,
