The Literary Arts Committee revealed the winners of the ‘2020 Art Sponsor of the Year’ award on the 21st December 2020. The ‘Art Sponsor of the Year’ is an event that selects and awards companies and individuals who have been leading art sponsorships for a year. BTS’ RM was selected as a winner in the personal donation category of the Arts Council Korea 2020 ‘Art Sponsor of the Year Awards’.
RM took the lead in supporting art by donating 100 million won to the National Museum of Contemporary Art in September to celebrate his birthday. RM is known for his love for art and reading. He has been recommending books for fans to read and loves to travel and visit museums. The donation was used to make out-of-print art books and donate them to over 400 nations. RM’s love of art is spreading good influence by expanding the interest in basic art of BTS fans.
Other winners included, Ha Jeong-woong, the honorary director of the Gwangju Museum of Art, was also selected as the winner in the personal donation category in recognition of his contributions to 12,000 works since 1993. Singer Henry for discovering music talents in a new way through the YouTube ‘Henry Together’ series that started in March.
